Guitar help anyone?

Okay, so here’s the thing…

I still haven’t bought a guitar… even though I’ve been ranting about it all the frickin’ time.

Maybe I’m just daunted. I can’t even play my ukulele decently (I keep forgetting chords to songs, and I’m totally tone deaf when it comes to music, it seems), and now I’m hoping to make the transition to guitar. I mean, I’m sure a lot of people say that it would’ve been better transition FROM guitar to ukulele to get a better feel of the changes in chords, but I have to admit, I bought the uku on a whim to play “Creep”by Radiohead like Amanda Palmer does (I still love her, though).

So question time…

Is it too late for me to learn guitar?

I have really short fingers, I’m practically tone deaf and I can’t remember chords for sh*t… but I really want to learn.

Or maybe I should stick to using a korg padkontrol and make MIDI songs instead? I’ll end up making MIDI remixes of Dragon Age soundtracks. XD

I. Swear. To. God. I feel like I’m the only one in my family without any sense of music or tone AT ALL.

Ugh… this makes me so sad.

And I still have an assignment with my Statistics subject (and I suck at math!).

I guess I’d better stick to studying. I think I’m better at that than music anyway. XD

A Gamer Rant

Okay, so here’s the thing…

You all know that I’m a gamer right, and that gaming is my thing, and right now I am currently obsessed about a game called “Dragon Age: Inquisition”. I am actually so obsessed with it and the series that every character I made positively LOOKS like me (they have a character creation thing where you can edit the main character’s face, from the shape of your face to the color of your eyes), and that I even started theorizing stuff about the games history that I end up commenting my theories in YouTube.

But recently, the game’s developer, BioWare, just announced that they will no longer be releasing any more updates and downloadable content (DLC) for the Xbox 360, which happens to be MY console, and that all future DLCs will only be released for their next generation gaming consoles, namely, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

And thus this is my question…

WTF, MAN?

Gaming companies, seriously, if you release a game in one type of console, proper decorum dictates that you release updates and DLC on THAT type of console as well, and not just New Gen Consoles. Focusing too much on New Gen leaves us behind, and I, for one, did not buy the Xbox 360 just for graphics, but rather for gaming experience, because let’s face it, the 360 has much MORE available games than the Xbox One. It has games still available ever since you released the machine in 2008, so it has thousands and thousands of games compared to the new gen. And unless you plan on making the Xbox One backward compatible with ALL your games, then I am not going to buy the New Gen.

And also, if the DLC you’re going to release is going to be the game’s Epilogue, like DA:Inquisitions Trespasser (the video below), then by rights, us Old Gen console owners DESERVE to know it ending. Honestly it’s like reading Harry Pottor books in paperback but realizing that the 7th book is only available for iPad in PAID subscription!

And here I thought of buying the best studio monitor stands for my sound system. The game’s soundtrack and music is frickin’ awesome, especially the tavern songs.

Ugh… gaming companies. It’s almost like they don’t care for their gamers. ~_~”

Bibliophilia…

Bibliophilia : :  a lover of books especially for qualities of format; also :  a book collector

my books!

My shelf is getting too small for me. T_T

Yep… these are my books. Or half of them since I’ve already donated some of them to the library I work in.

And as of the moment, I need more space for my books.

I know, I know. With all the technology today, I can probably stuff all these books into my cellphone’s memory card and read them on the road. But what can I say? I’m a librarian. I’m addicted to paper books. Not to mention you can’t really bring your phone and whip it out whenever you want to read. My phone is not really that expensive, but still, I don’t want it to get snatched out of my hands when I’m in public.

My family is actually complaining about the amount of books I have, but I love them so much! I’d keep and collect antique volumes if I could… but then they’d probably be really expensive…

Maybe I should attach Fulterer soft close drawer slides and make an extendable drawer for my smaller books? Or maybe another shelf?

Argh!!! The problems of a book collector…

Practice Makes Perfect?

And now back to my gaming news…

Now that I have an Xbox 360 with Kinect, I am now seriously, SERIOUSLY practicing this.

And it’s not going to well.

I don’t have any DLC (Downloadable Content) songs yet, so this is the hardest song in my playlist as of now. And it is a b… really hard. XD

I guess my fluffiness is attributed to my issues with dancing this song. And my dance space is really not that roomy, but being a bit of a completionist, I can’t help but be disappointed with myself that I just can’t get this right. My feet get all tangled up, I get tired much too easily, and I can’t do the jumping and the fast steps. The guy dancing here is awesome to have done it. T_T

That doesn’t mean I’m going to give up though. I’mma finish this!!!

Maybe I just need one of those magnectic jewelry to increase my stamina or something. I heard the benefits of magnetic bracelets includes an increase in physical stamina, which I would probably need to do all the quick steps.

Hopefully, this thing could help with my fluffiness too, I heard that some people lost weight because of Dance Central. XD

Singing Lessons?

And so the everlasting search to find my purpose in life (and something to fill my time as a single woman) has caused me to become confused again.

I am seriously… SERIOUSLY… thinking of taking singing lessons.

Because I SO DESPERATELY NEED IT.

My voice sucks. Big time. It sucks so bad that when I sing, it rains. How’s that for nasty.

But I still want to do it. I don’t know if my voice will get any better, or if it’ll suck even more. I just want to learn how sing. It doesn’t have to be anything professional, maybe just enough not to embarrass myself during a karaoke night with my friends, or at least sound pleasant when I speak. I want to be able to sing “Suteki Da Ne” from the Final Fantasy X soundtrack without running out of breath or breaking my voice.

Hmm… if I remember correctly, learning how to sing properly was in my Bucket List (or my 45-things-to-do-before-I-die list). Where is that thing anyway? I need to update that…

So… VOICE LESSONS! What do you guys think? XD

Dear Old House That I Grew Up In…

I should make a video of my version of this song…

Anyway, so… my parents have decided to sell my old childhood home (where I still live in, since both my parents live in another area). My father will be retiring soon, and the upkeep of our old home is a little too much. Even if we want to keep it, it’s becoming quite expensive. And we can’t afford the bills anymore. T_T

We haven’t had any buyers yet, but there were some people negotiating with my parents now. Of course we can’t move right away, we still have to figure out how to make our old furniture fit in another house, selling of some stuff, probably a bunch of furniture and appliance repair, and throwing out stuff. My brother is organizing our stuff for a garage sale, soon, which includes his much beloved drum set.

It’s really hard, I think, to let go of something like a childhood house. We grew up here, learned a lot of lessons here, had some laughs and tears. But for me, I think it’s okay… I know that it’ll be for the best, and even though I’m a little sentimental, I shouldn’t dwell on it and be practical.

Anyway, it’s too early to know yet, and my parents haven’t made a final decision. I should start learning this song just in case, though.

Hitman: Absolution?

So… I know I posted that I’m going to buy this game for the Xbox…

Problem is, I think I’m going to fail at playing it. ~_~

I’ve never been good at shooting games (even more on horror games… damn you Fatal Frame ~_~), or even at sneaking games. I remember I played my brother’s Metal Gear Solid 2 once on the PS2 and I always end up getting caught. And shot. I’ve seen the Game Over screen so many times, it’s annoying. ~_~

Anyway, Agent 47 is awesome that I really want to play it. No other character who can kill a target, find burlap overlay and wrap it up in a jiffy without spilling blood on himself. Kind of like Ezio Auditore.

Now there’s an idea… Ezio Auditore vs. Agent 47…

Versus Thane Krios. XD

Hmm… I feel a fanfiction coming on.

Wait, I think I’d better finish my other one.

Agent 47! You will be mine! I don’t care if I suck at playing the game! XD

Caffeine Excess…?

All this obsession over Mass Effect is making me feel like I’ve had too much coffee in my system.

Either that, or I am just excited.

Maybe I should lay off on my old buddy, wilbur curtis here. *pats coffee maker beside me*

It’s just that it’s been WAAAAYYYY too long since I’ve played decent video games. The last game I played was Final Fantasy XII, and it didn’t catch my fancy that I ended up doing Okami on my old PS2.

I’m really hopeful I can buy an Xbox 360 (even though I know the Xbox 720 is under it’s testing phases now). And yes, I still prefer the Xbox over the PS3 simply because of Dance Central. XD

Ugh… this is driving me nuts. There’s so many great games on the Xbox, and the only thing I’ve ever played on it is my friend’s Dance Central 3 game. T_T

ARRGHHHH!!! WHEN IS MY SUMMER BONUS COMING?! T_T

Bag Obsession

I think I am totally obsessed with bags.

Sometimes I feel like the bag I have isn’t the right one for me. T_T

I have TONS of bags right now, and still I keep buying more! Sheesh. I don’t know why, maybe because the bag I have doesn’t seem to have the right pockets and size and fabric.

Since I walk around a lot, I wanted my bag to be water-proof (so my stuff won’t get wet even in the rain), with lots of pockets, and still a little roomy. I also don’t like backpacks and bags with short straps.

I’m looking down at my bag right now, and even though it has some decent pockets and it’s water-resistant… I feel like it’s not that roomy. ~_~”

Of maybe I’m just paranoid again.

Maybe I should consider buying mens leather briefcase

But then again, they don’t have decent straps…

ARRRRGHHHH!!!!

Ukulele Frustration: Europa

I wonder how many years it’s going to take before I can actually play the picking part in this…

From my stiff fingers to my lack of knowledge in sheet music and tabs, I have a feeling it’s going to take me forever. T_T
