Prom Dresses

In connection to my previous post about JS Proms, I found a girl with the prettiest dress in that event. XD

I actually like her dress because it was all nice and proper. She looked like a little princess without having to resort to using tanning bed lotion to change the color of her skin. The dress was white, but it showed the natural color of her skin.

I remembered that her dress was just like mine. I mean, sure it looked like it’s more fit for a wedding, but it’s decent. I remember some of this girl’s classmates were wearing really revealing outfits, and it just didn’t look right. I was actually very amazed at this girl, because she carried it very well during the night.

Anyway, that ended my Friday night. And on to Saturday!

Computer Parts Accessories

Hahaha, I found this in the InterNet today, and I realized I want one so much. XD

I found out that recently, a lot of computer techies have been using computer parts and lingo as fashion accessories…. although I think it’s going to be a little too uncomfortable to give, like, a Delete or Backspace button as a Wedding Jewelry. XD

Stuff like keys from a keyboard, capacitors, LED lights and even a USB flashdrive can be used as bracelets, earrings, pendants and necklaces.

Maybe that should be the thing that I did with my old computer parts. It would be cool to have a bracelet that says “ZENKX” made with keyboard keys. XD

Steampunk Laptop

Ya know what would be so cool?

If I had one of these Steampunk custom laptops.

Yep, I also love the Steampunk fashion genre. What can say? I love mechanical stuff, even though I’m not much of a tinker. If this thing gets broken, I’m gonna have a hard time fixing it. XD

For those who wish to be educated in the world of fashion (harhar), steampunk is a sub-culture of science fiction, and it focuses more on the fashion statements made during the “steam era” or Victorian age, when steam power was first put to use and studied. Most of the time, steampunk fashion involves a lot of leather, copper, bronze and polished wood. Steampunk fanatics tend to “alter” certain objects, like these laptops or even cellphones, so that they would look like something that came out of a Jules Verne novel.

Unfortunately, steampunk is not readily available here in the Philippines, because it’s hard to find stuff like steampunk goggles and buckles and boots and stuff. Sheesh, I really wanted one of those steampunk goggles too… ~_~

Neckties as Belts? Heck yeah!

I don’t know why some people actually think I’m weird for using skinny ties or neckties as belts.

I see nothing wrong with it actually.

It’s quite fashionable, especially for women. I mean, most of the time some belts don’t match the blouse, and in my case, sometimes the more “fashionable” (meaning popular) belts don’t quite fit me. Harhar! So instead I use neckties as a belt for my blouses and glamming them up a bit with brooches. And sometimes, when I’m particularly feeling punkish, I wear them as belts for my pants and let the design peek down the sides… I particularly like my tie that has Garfield on it. So cute. XD

But sometimes, I get people telling me why I wear neckties like that. And I’m like, so what? It’s fashion, ya? It’s supposed to evolve, and I’m supposed to be creative with fashion. I don’t want to wear thick leather belts all my life, and I don’t to spend hundreds of pesos on a “fashionable” belt when I can get a simple (and sometimes even ornate!) necktie at a local thrift or ukay-ukay store for P20. XD

Anyway, I believe whoever came up with this fashion trend, is somewhat of a genius. No more expensive belts for me. I’m sticking to my scarves and neckties as belts. XD

Fashion Tips for the Rainy Season

Photobucket

Oh man, so many of my beloved shoes are going to get so wrecked again. I’m going to need more shoebuy coupons just in case my favorite leather pumps plunges into the abyss. Wahahaha!

Anyway, since it’s the rainy season again, floods are going to be prevalent across all the streets of Manila again. In fact, just yesterday while passing through the Ortigas Extension, yours truly just stuck in a major traffic jam because of waist deep flooding, not to mention I watched all those people who looked their best, but unfortunately who’s clothes got all muddied.

So here I am, to offer you some fashionista tips (harhar) on how to look good during the rainy season. XD

Wear Boots: During the rains, it’s best to say adieu to your favorite stilettos or heels. In fact, you should opt for boots or rubber slippers instead. Leather is a big “no-no” during the rains. Your expensive leather or suede shoes may get spoiled completely.

Carry protective gear: Carrying protective gear to stay safe from rains is an absolute must for all. After all, you would not want your favorite dress to get spoiled. Always carry a folding umbrella or raincoat with you. It is always better to carry an over sized umbrella than get wet and resemble a scarecrow!

Bright colors: Ransack your wardrobe and dig out clothes in bright colors (but also avoid whites XD). Rainy season is known for dark gloomy clouds. Do not let the weather bog you down. Instead, don bright colors that will not only make you look good but also help to lift your dampened spirits.

Bags: It is advisable to carry big plastic bags during rains. Big bags are required to carry your umbrella or raincoat. After all, you would not want to be stranded in the rains without one. Keep your nice suede or velvet bags for other occasions. Stick to plastic during the rains as they require zilch maintenance.

A Chubby Shopper’s Woes

It’s a fabolous blouse isn’t it? Unfortunately, I bought a similar blouse a couple of days ago.

I was shopping at a local mall here, when I spotted the same looking blouse at one of the stores here. And stupid me, I didn’t look at the store’s logo. ~_~

As I was about to bring the blouse to the cashier, one of the clerks said, “Would you like to see some of our prenatal vitamins here, Ma’am? We’ve having a discount.” And that’s when I realized that I was actually in a maternity clothing store. XD

Yeah, a lot people often make that mistake about me, and also my sister. Apparently, there’s no physical difference between being pregnant and being fluffy nowadays. Sheesh. I guess my gut really IS that big, that people tend to think that I’m pregnant. Sometimes, I even buy clothes at that I didn’t know belong in a preggy figure. I don’t know whether to be amused or insulted… but I think I’m leaning more to amused. XD

But I guess it’s better that I’m a chubby woman than a chubby man. At least people won’t make fun of my man-gut. Hahaha!

Me Wants High Heels, but My Belly Doesn’t

One of the things that irk me, being a heavy set woman and all, is that I can’t seem to walk properly in high heels. XD

Of maybe I’m just not used to it.

Take this baby for example:

 From Cellphone Photos

It’s classy, chic, strappy and has these awesome high heels. And it looked so kick-a$$ on my feet too. But unfortunately, I couldn’t buy them because… I can’t carry them well (not to mention the price would probably burn a hole in my pocket XD).

I saw an episode on Oprah that showed some of the best shoes that a woman should get, and how to walk in high heels. I tried it with a pair of stiletto Rusty Lo shoes I had, and I looked kind of silly. Hahaha!

As much as I want to walk all fierce and sexy in my heels, my belly kind of ruins it. Haha! Maybe I should start working out or something. I look better in sneakers anyway. XD
