Body Stagnation?

Is there such a term like this? When someone hasn’t been exercising lately that they end up with creaking joints and flabby tummies? XD

Because I have that. XD

I really need to get moving again. Just this morning, I stretched my arms up and my back literally went “crack-tack-tack-tack!”

It’s been almost a year since I’ve stopped going to the gym and I’m gaining so much weight again. Hahaha! I consider this my normal cycle, but sometimes I feel it’s getting out of hand.

I know, I know… it’s my fault because I lack the will-power and discipline, and because of the fact that love food. But honestly, I am not getting any younger, so I really need to take care of my body now. Just yesterday I pulled five gray hairs out of my head. FIVE-FRICKIN-GRAY-HAIRS. For a single woman, that scares the heck out of me. (Although my father has the most glorious head of gray hair… it’s grey, but it’s still thick… and slightly unruly XD).

I’m thinking I should probably get my bike down from my hitch bike racks, or get my sister’s TV down again and do some yoga. I personally prefer the yoga more, although the recent butt cramp I had last year kinda scared me. >_<

I’m also planning to get an XBox this year, mainly because of Dance Central 1 to 3. That game has an exercise counter which counts how many calories I burn from dancing the steps. I just have to make sure that I choose the right songs that would get me moving…

And I’ll be sure to only pick, like, 3 non-dancing games so I won’t get stagnant playing that XBox. Hahaha! I think Assassin’s Creed, Saints Row the Third and Hitman: Absolution is enough. XD

Anyway back to topic, I wasn’t able to clean out my yoga mat yesterday (since my washing machine broke down and I had to wash ALL of my clothes by HAND T_T), but when I get the chance (and when the skies clear up of this rain), maybe I’ll start doing Yoga again. XD

Hell in a Heel?

I SERIOUSLY want one of these babies.

Unfortunately, I’m rather heavy, and although wearing heels might make me look sexier and taller (hahaha), I still get painful feet after wearing them for a long time.

Which is why I end up wearing flats, like, ALL the time.

Platformed shoes are fine for me too, but I really like one of those sky high heels. Maybe I should find spenco soles first before I wear heels like these. I have a pair of them in my closet, but I hardly wear them because my feet hurt like crazy at the end of the day.

Also, according to scientific research and study, there are actually a lot of dangers in wearing high heels all the time. High heels could end up disfiguring the bones of your feet, changing your straight, healthy posture into a curved one (causing your spine to create an unhealthy S shape) and causing bunions, hammertoes and other injuries to your tendons, ankles and toes.

I’m a regular flats wearer, and although I have sky high heels, I do not wear them all the time. I only use them for special occasions.

So for women everywhere who wear sky high heels all the time, research the effects of your heels to your body. It might be a good idea to learn from your research, since you don’t really need to risk your health for the sake of vanity.

As for me, I’ll just drool of the beauty of these shoes, and afterwards I’ll prance my way to a cake store. XD

It’s Here! My New Bellydance DVD

Yep! My Ariellah CD came in yesterday! Wheee!!

By the way, the Serpentine DVD was something I bought a while ago. Talk about being a fanatic.

Anyway, I was able to do some of Ariellah’s Yoga Conditioning last night. It made me sleep pretty late, but dang, it felt good. It stretched my muscles rather well, but I think Rachel’s DVD is better when it comes to training and stretching the spine.

Actually, both DVDs stretch and warms up the body well. It really does improve stability and balance and it really works well with getting the kinks out my spine. My back been hurting awfully lot for the last few days, that all this stretching is a huge relief. I guess that’s the price you pay for sitting slouched on an office chair for 8 hours, 5 times a week. Plus I was able to sweat quite a lot, particularly Rachel’s Yoga session. My Yoga mat needs to be disinfected to get the scent of sweat off of it. ~_~

It’s really great that I have these DVDs. Since I’m cost cutting (huhuhu T_T), I haven’t had the money to join a gym that has bellydance lessons. Okay, so maybe these two DVDs are more focused on Tribal and Tribal Fusion, but I think all in all, it’ll help with my flexibility. I was thinking that I’d strengthen my muscles a bit first with a couple of month’s work of Yoga, before proceeding with their drills and bellydance exercises. Hmm… that sounds like a good plan, doesn’t it?

But I think I’d better get some cost effective life insurance first. I’m afraid that with all this Yoga I’m doing, I’d end up knocking around furniture since my balance is awful. Not to mention that I think there’s a kink in my glutes (aka Butt Muscles). It’s getting kind of painful when I move. But then again, that’s a part of any work-out or exercise session.~_~

It’s Friday today, so I’m hoping to do some more yoga when I get home. Honestly… more people should consider doing yoga. I think the exercise and meditation would be great for everyone.

Back PAIN!!!! T_T

Speaking of yoga…

I think the cushion on my bed is messing with the alignment of my spine or something. Maybe I need to switch to barn wood furniture hard beds.

Not to mention the whole 8 hour hunching over a computer is hurting me.

I found this video about using yoga to help fix the realignment of the spine by stretches. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do these after the long weekend.

Anyway, I probably still need to fix my schedule so that I least have 3 days in a work week to do some serious yoga, so maybe the 4 day long weekend should help me fix everything and center my mind again.

Support, Stop Cyberbullying

This… was pretty much some part of my life in high school, except for the fact that FaceBook or networking sites were still non-existent then. We had to take insults like this right into our faces, and in my case, etched in the boy’s bathroom. ~_~

Still continuing on to the cyberbullying issue, I came across this video while I was looking to compare life insurance. It’s about A Thin Line.Org, which is a website and a program by MTV that deals with cyberbullying, sexting, and other abuses that occurs in schools nowadays.

It’s actually a really, really great program, that I wish would be implemented in schools, colleges and even workplaces here in the Philippines. Being the texting capital in Asia, cyberbullying is pretty much just as prevalent here as it is in the US.  Probably just as worse, since I see articles of suicides by teenagers in the newspapers.

It’s scary to think that us, the older generation, are letting these things happen. There are still no laws against all forms of bullying, and there are a lot of schools, particularly here in the Philippines, that do not have anti-bullying policies. Things like the ones happening in this video should never happen to anyone in real life. ~_~

Anyway, calling to politicians, mind you that we need laws against cyberbullying and other forms of abuse through digital means, because believe it or not, THIS *points to video* is happening here too. ~_~

Whisper Hungarian in My Ear

I don’t mean literally. XD

It’s just a new song I heard from Rachel Brice’s Serpentine DVD called “Whisper Hungarian in my Ear” by a band called The Toids. I really like it… its something that I’d want to hear everyday using home audio speakers.

In the DVD, this song has a choreography, which, unfortunately for a chubby bellydance newbie such as myself, is pretty hard. But I’m hoping I can learn it pretty soon. XD

I find the song really mysterious, and somewhat calming. I think it’s the violins.

Anyway, aside from the choreography, Rachel Brice and her friends actually created a “mash-up” short film with the song. It featured horror actor Bela Lugosi, and they merged the film with the dancing of Rachel Brice’s group, the Indigo Bellydance (which includes members Mardi Love and Zoe Jakes). It looks really awesome, actually. It’s like the three dancers are Bela Lugosi’s graceful ghosts seductresses.

Huwaaa… Rachel Brice Love! <3 It'll be a while before I can actually dance to Rachel Brice's choreography of this song, but I guess for the meantime, I'll dance it with my own choreo. XD

Goodbye, Pimple Scars!

Yeah, kind of weird, but I’m into a sort of business with my mother right now, selling awesome wellness products. XD

At first I was very skeptical of the products, but my mom convinced me to use them, and so I did. And wouldn’t you know it, the soap she gave me actually get rid of pimples overnight! For a pimple magnet such as myself, it’s a huge development. Not to mention, it actually helped with my pimple scars as well. I have plenty of those from my highschool days.

So what is this miracle soap I’m talking about? It’s Royale Business Club’s Royale Kojic Papaya Soap. ^_^v

And in case you’re wondering if I’m making this all up and I’m just saying these things for the sake of selling our stuff… it’s not my “entrepreneur” tactics. I am seriously, SERIOUSLY saying the truth. This soap is just amazing (for me anyway). I mean, even my older sister noticed the change, she pointed it out to me while she was three inches from my face, man! If that sort of effect is noticeable from three inches, what more if it was within three yards? I guess I didn’t actually notice it too much (due to the fact that I have been crazy busy XD) but still, it’s quite a change. XD

Anyway, if you want to know more about Royale’s other products (which include several food supplements such as Grape Seed Oil, Glutathione and their AWESOME Vitamins [which I also take]), make sure to visit their website, or if you’re in the Rizal area of the Philippines (Rizal as in Region 4-a of the Philippines okay?! XD), you can go ahead and order from here if you want. My comment box is always open. XD

Sheesh… I wish there are more products that are as effective as these…
