Origin of the “Blood Whales”

Yeah, it’s dumb thing… but I’m going to tell you about the “blood whales”…

Which is actually a part of a “series” of dreams that I’ve been having for the last few months. I have no idea how it popped up during my sleep, but… it did.

Anyway, so one of the main things I hate is having zombie dreams. And I get zombie dreams so often that it’s turning into a a TV-show like series when I sleep… kind of like watching TV while you sleep. O_o

Imagine, if you will, yours truly… traveling with a bunch of friends in a zombie apocalypse, with my brother driving all around town in my father’s Pajero with polaris ranger parts, running over zombies that look strangely like Nemesis from Resident Evil, except slower. Food was running low, so was gas, and we were looking for weapons since bullets are also running low.

We come across a building, which was ruined after the zombie infection reached people in aeroplanes, causing them to crash. I was with 5 people (strangely enough, it included my bestfriend Joyce, my officemate Carlo, my friend in Mandaluyong Cleto, my sister Lelai, and my cousin Jeffrey O_o), and we were in what looked like a store of weapons (if you know the shop Mumbakki, you’ll understand XD). I found a couple of swords and I was looking for my sister to give her one, when we heard this noise.

If you’ve heard the Siren in Silent Hill, it sounds just like that. If not, PLAY SILENT HILL.

Anyway, so this siren sounds right? And we stood on alert, waiting for zombies, but no zombies came. But as I looked, something red dripped on my sister’s forehead and I looked up.

There, on the sky, were the “blood whales”. They weren’t REAL whales, but like these animated, cartoony whales with a wide grin on their faces. They were dripping blood all around us, and Carlo, unfortunately, got a drop or two in his mouth.

“Spit it out! It contains the zombie virus!” Dream Cleto said in my… dream (O_o) so we tried to spit it out, but it was too late for Carlo. He turned into a ravishing zombie, and since I was the closest one to him… he bit me my neck.

And then I woke up.

Hahaha! Weird, ain’t it? I told it to Joyce (the real life one) and she laughed because it was the freakiest dream she ever heard. I dunno, I guess my head is making all these crazy stuff in my dreams due to stress.

But damn them zombies and “blood whales”, I’ve missed a lot of beauty sleep because of them. I wonder what it means to have re-occuring dreams. it’s just really freaky. ~_~

Anyway, so that’s the tale of the “Blood whales” dream… It’s getting pretty late, and I still have work tomorrow, so I hope that no zombie or blood whale appears in my dreams tonight. I’m going to be so pissed if I dream of them again. ~_~

Lady Gaga is Cool, But Eye Problems Are Not…

Lady Gaga’s anime-like eyes are causing quite a stir amongst young ladies of today. Aside from asking the famous superstar what eye wrinkle cream she uses, women have also began ordering contact lens that have the same effect.

Known as “circle lenses”, these type of contact lens encompass not only the pupils and iris, but also some of the whites of the eyes.

However many optometrists also don’t agree with this look. The contacts, they said, can cause mild to severe reactions to the wearer, such as serious bacterial infection, or even significant damage to the eye’s ability to function, with the potential for irreversible sight loss, allergic reaction, conjunctivitis, corneal abrasion and swelling, in addition to other vision and eye problems.

The lenses, which are not really FDA-approved and are considered to be illegal in some countries, are not really the cause of Gaga’s doe eyed look. Her eyes, were actually digitally manipulated to achieve that look.

So ladies, be careful and research carefully before trying to emulate someone’s look. It’s great to look like your idol and all (like Lady Gaga for example) but if it poses some sort of risk to you health, then don’t even think about it. It’s better to be healthy and happy, than to be a look-alike with health issues. ~_~

A Chubby Shopper’s Woes

It’s a fabolous blouse isn’t it? Unfortunately, I bought a similar blouse a couple of days ago.

I was shopping at a local mall here, when I spotted the same looking blouse at one of the stores here. And stupid me, I didn’t look at the store’s logo. ~_~

As I was about to bring the blouse to the cashier, one of the clerks said, “Would you like to see some of our prenatal vitamins here, Ma’am? We’ve having a discount.” And that’s when I realized that I was actually in a maternity clothing store. XD

Yeah, a lot people often make that mistake about me, and also my sister. Apparently, there’s no physical difference between being pregnant and being fluffy nowadays. Sheesh. I guess my gut really IS that big, that people tend to think that I’m pregnant. Sometimes, I even buy clothes at that I didn’t know belong in a preggy figure. I don’t know whether to be amused or insulted… but I think I’m leaning more to amused. XD

But I guess it’s better that I’m a chubby woman than a chubby man. At least people won’t make fun of my man-gut. Hahaha!

The Guatemala Sink Hole

DUDE!!!

Have you guys seen this?

You probably have, since this sink hole is probably on the cover of every newspaper and being televised in every news channel.

It’s just so… freaky. Reports say that it was poor construction of pipelines in Guatemala that caused this sink hole. But looking down at it, it’s almost like the Earth just swallowed up the part of this intersection. My sister even said it looked like the sink holes the Silver Surfer made in the “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” movie released a few years ago. (The aliens are upon us! Haha! Just kidding!)

It’s scary to think that something like this can be caused by man’s own hand, and poor engineering skills. It really does look like something nature would do to retaliate against our greed for land.

I just hope that this incident doesn’t repeat itself. Brrr… it gives me shivers just looking at that picture. It almost looks like that hole goes all the way down the Earth’s core. ~_~

Mall Trippin’ feat. Lelai Part 3: Those Are BIG Teddy Bears

After my sister drooled all over Jacob Black’s six pack abs, and filling our stomach with Wham! Burgers, we saw a cute exhibit at the ground floor of SM Marikina called White Christmas exhibit, that features animatronic white animals. And of course, being the girls that we are (>_<) we squealed at the overflow of animal cuteness. Here's a bunch of pictures I took with my sister as the model and size comparison (she's 4'11 by the way, so you can just imagine the size of that Panda bear).

But after much sqealing, I’ve come to realize something. As much as the whole exhibit is for decorational purposes, it seemed like its a bit… well, misleading. There were kids during the exhibit, and they’re touching these animatronic bears and tigers. What if, heaven forbid, these kids were to interact with an actual tiger or bear? They’re going to think that this fluffy animal was just like the one they petted in the exhibit, and that it’s okay to touch them because it won’t harm them.

I don’t know, I guess it’s just me being weird… but then again, I’m always weird. XD

Tune in again next time when we explore the Cosplay Convention at SM Marikina this December 19-20, 2009! If I see a Sephiroth cosplayer (assuming he has the looks to match XD), I’M GONNA GLOMP HIM! XD
