Street Fighter X Tekken for 2012!

Is it just me or is Chun-Li’s thighs (and titanium bracelets for men)getting bigger every time Street Fighter has a new game out… ?

Anyway, looks like what I said before came true… THERE’S A STREET FIGHTER V.S. TEKKEN VIDEO GAME COMING OUT, PEOPLE!

Bad thing is, we don’t have a PS3, or an XBOX 360.

Looks like I need a credit card. >_<

Anyway, yup! Street Fighter VS Tekken will be coming out next year, and from what I've been reading around the net (and from my discussions with my BFF Joyce), the game is going to be great. So far, from the previews, I've been seeing a lot of old faces, though it was mentioned that there were going to be quite a few new characters, too.

Personally, I'm just happy that they made this. I guess it's going to beat the whole "Final Fantasy Dissidia" series out of the running, but still, I'm really apprehensive. The playing styles from the previews seems to lean more on the "Street Fighter" controls rather than the "Tekken" gameplay, so it might make Tekken lovers take some time first to practice. However, it's still a good thing to finally see that Ryu/Ken/Hwoarang/Steve Fox battle I've been dreaming about.

I wonder how much is an XBox nowadays... hmm...

Oh... I don't think Paul Phoenix was in the preview... >_<

Completionist’s Envy

Oh man, my behind hurts so much from sitting waaaayyy too long. I might have to get like a seat with wire loom to support me. XD

Anyway, I am really envious of completionists… you know, the video gamers who need to get 100% in a game. They’d search every nook and cranny, do all the quests, and defeat all the enemies to be able to finish the game with their minds in peace.

Maybe I just have the patience for it? I’m playing Final Fantasy X on our POS2 again, and I am a hard time with the 0.0.0 Chocobo race time (for FFX fanatics, you know what I mean XD). Not to mention I have to level up, because my Sphere Grid is all messed up (again, FFX fanatics would know about this).

Maybe I’m just impatient… and lazy. Hahaha! I tend to not level up my characters because I want to move forward with the story quickly, and as a result I keep on dying because of my low level. ~_~

Anyway, maybe I just need to discipline myself, be patient, and keep going at it. Maybe what I’ll miss out in patience, I’ll get in luck. Hahahaha! Good luck to me, then. XD

MY PS2 LIVES!!!

HAHAHAHAHA! It’s alive! IT’S ALIVE!!!

I swear, if this PS2 breaks down again and nobody can repair it, I’m going to encase it in glass and keep it in my cabinet (right next to my personalized baby gifts… which were prank gifts given to me by my friends ~_~).

Yep, I have no intention of selling or letting my PS2 rot. As long as there are people willing to download and burn game files for me, I would keep playing this!

Actually, I can’t afford a Wii or a PS3 yet (huhuhuhu much sadness T_T), but it’s okay. My PS2 is a little run down, but hey, I can still play some of the most awesome games in there, like FFX, God of War 1 and 2, Tales of Legendia and Abyss (not really a fan of Radiant Mythology for the PSP ~_~), Guitar Hero 2 and 3 and Metallica, Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria and my personal favorite, OKAMI!

*cuddles Okami CD case* (Oh my cute puppy Amaterasu, I missed you so much! XD)

As for the real reason it broke… hmm, maybe from over-use? Harharhar! When I was still a bum (yeah, I had a bum-phase for 3 years after my “graduation”), I used to play the PS2 for almost a day. But now that I have a job, I don’t think I’ll be that hard on it. Besides, I recently got Dissidia 012 Duodecim on my sister’s PSP, so yeah, I’ll be punishing the PSP more soon. >:)

Anyway, the guy who repaired it for me doesn’t have a website, but still, I want to thank him for being so awesome. His name is Jason, and he owns a small stall down at Sta. Lucia Mall (the old one) that sells platform games. He repaired it for me, upgraded my PSP and installed Duodecim.. Heehee! Thanks, Kuya Jason! ^_^v

Where’s Yoshitaka Amano-san? And Gaming News

With all these deaths and these tragedies going on in Japan, I’m beginning to worry about my favorite painter, Yoshitaka Amano. T_T

Oh man, I’m tearing up just worrying about him. (But hey, give me a break will ya? I already cried and howled with worry when I remembered Gackt, and I cried with joy when I found out he was alive ~_~).

Amano became my favorite painter after I saw his illustration of Final Fantasy VI in the internet, and after seeing his Vampire Hunter D art. They were masterpieces to me. The brushstrokes of his paintings were so fine, and it was just beautiful. I literally scourged around all National Bookstores in my area to find a copy of his collaborative work with Neil Gaiman called “Sandman: The Dream Hunters”. (sorry, Neil Gaiman fans, I liked the story, but I loved the art. XD)

I just hope he is okay. Amano-san, if you’re out there, please tell your fans that you are safe! We are so worried. T_T

*me regretting not being able to take online nursing degree begins now ~_~*

In other news about Japan, since I’ve already posted stuff about J-celebrities, it’s about time that I moved on to the every awesome Japanese Gaming Industry… which luckily will continue to thrive (hooray). Several of Japan’s gaming companies have now posted in Twitter about they’re current statuses. The first one I checked was Square Enix (of course, I’d try to find them first, they made the FF series!) and luckily they are all fine, although they’re online servers will be down for the week and probably longer due to power issues. Sony Entertainment is also okay, so are the Sega Community and Nintendo company. Hideo Kojima, of Kojima Productions and Konami (also creator of the gad-awesome Metal Gear series) is also okay.

Unfortunately, due to the destruction and also power outages in Japan, it has been announced that several games will have delivery issues, or will end up being altered or cancelled.

Ouch, I just hope Dissidia 012 won’t be one of them. ~_~

I hope that all these people are well somewhere, surrounded by people who have had online nursing degree to take care of them.

Suit Up With DC Universe Online

I am beginning to think that I need a new computer other than this Acer laptop of mine. Mainly because I want to play this kick @$$ game!

It’s DC Universe Online, the newest brain-child of the wonderful people from Sony Entertainment Online. It will be released this January of 2011, and as far as I can tell from the DCUO’s Website, pre-ordered copies are being shipped as we speak. Some gamers are even complaining about how slow the delivery is taking. Talk about major excitement! XD

According to the site, the game is classified as an Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), and has a lot of features. The player has a wide array of choices, from which faction they’re going to play for (heroes VS villains), to the costumes, and even the super powers that they will possess. The character creation of the game makes sure that the player is the one to decide what sort of hero or anti-hero they would be, which is pretty cool. I, personally, would like an anti-hero with a combination of Harley Quinn’s flexibility and insanity with Wonder Woman’s powers. >:)

From the preview, you can also see just how great this game is going to be mainly because it has several DC characters available to be your “mentor” in game. In the introduction, heroes like Superman, Batman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Flash and the Green Lantern can be seen…and on the anti-heroes side theres’ Lex Luthor, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Circe, Black Adam, Deathstroke and Giganta. I found that Superman looks rather… disheveled in the preview…

Anyway, I have a feeling this game is going to take a while before it reaches the Philippine shores, because it’s been said that the monthly subscription for the game is going to reach up to $14.99 (roughly around P700 in the current economy… God knows how the exchange rate always changes ~_~). Plus, I for one, might have a hard time with the specs this game is requesting. It needs an Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 operating system, 3.0 GHz CPU Dual Core Processor, 2 GB RAM NVIDIA 8800GTX+ or ATI 3800 series+ Video Card, 30 GB of Free Hard Drive Space, DirectX-compatible sound card or motherboard sound capability, Broadband internet connection (required) and a DVD-ROM Drive (for installation, of course).

So in the meantime, while I’m saving up for a PC with these specs (harharhar), you can find out more about this game through their website @ http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/

The Sims 3: Ambition

Yep, EA Games are at it again.

This time, they released another installment to the Sims game with The Sims 3: Ambition, and it’s getting rave reviews yet again.

It kind of makes me want to buy a PC with an uber upgraded video card just to play this game. XD

This time, players can get the chance to experience that job they’ve never had. Players can choose being a ghost hunter, an inventor, a sculptor, a slacker or, for fans of CSI, and investigator (dang it, I need to get this game! XD). Aside from the jobs, other features from the previous games are also included. Like getting a tattoo, being a bearded lady (harhar!), etc. Basically, you can costumize your character again. Also with the Architect ambition, you can even set up the town the way you want it! So if you want to be a bearded, tattooed lady investigator who lives beside a mall or spa, here’s your chance to do it! XD

The game has been released since June 1, so copies should be available now for the PC. I just wish I had a PC I could install it to. ~_~

Final Fantasy VII on the PS3… NOT!

Yep, as it turns out, SquareEnix (formerly SquareSoft) is not remaking one of their greatest games, Final Fantasy VII, for the ps3.

It was rumored that FFVII will be remade for the ps3 after this technical demo of the game was shown during 2009 E3. It showed the opening sequence of the Final Fantasy VII, and it showed how the PS3′s capabilities would complement the game. Fans immediately assumed there was going to be a remake.

However, in one interview Yoshinori Kitase, a game producer for SquareEnix, has debunked these rumors saying that the clip was just a mere demonstration.

As for me, being a HUGE Final Fantasy fan, it left me pretty disappointed. I mean, SquareEnix were able to release games like Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and other FF titles, and yet they cannot remake the FFVII? I’m pretty sure a lot of fans would love to Sephiroth in his full 3-D glory, or even Tifa in her full busty 39D beauty… whoops~! XD

Anyway, the PS3 is still pretty pricy here in the Philippines, not to mention there are only a few notable games for it (GOD OF WAR 3!!!). So in the meantime, while I wait for the console to cheapen a bit, I’ll spend my days trying to reach the frickin’ orange button on my Guitar Hero.

Frustrations of a Guitar Hero Addict

Okay, this is SOOOOO annoying!

I don’t know if it’s my weak pinkie, my big belly that looks like a preggy woman’s tummy on prenatal vitamins that screws up the way I hold the guitar controller, or my lack of guitar skills… but I still can’t get over playing songs on Guitar Hero on Hard mode. ~_~

My bro, who is an awesome guitarist/drummer, can do Hard mode songs just fine on GH. But I can’t seem to get it right! I’m having a hard time with the transition from the green button (on the far left) and the orange button (on the far right). Damn my short fingers.

Or maybe it’s just the way I put my fingers on the buttons. My 12 year old nephew has the same size as my hand, and yet he can play just fine… since he beat my score (sheesh). I feel like I should get guitar lessons so I can learn how to play properly, since from what I could see, there’s a certain technique to it. I just got to figure it out.

Which would probably take me 10 years. ~_~

Guitar Hero: Not For The Weak Hearted Gamer

Or rather, the short fingered gamer. XD

I’m not much of a guitarist. In fact, I suck at music. Hahaha! It’s my stupid brother who brought out my addiction to Guitar Hero. I swear, my bro could probably turn industrial hand wheels with just his fingers… they’re so frickin’ quick and strong. I wish I had guitarist fingers. Huhuhu. I have a really, really weak and puny pinkie. ~_~

Anyway, like I said, the Guitar Hero games are a completionist’s nightmare, especially if you have GH3. It’s a total NIGHTMARE! My bro’s friend once brought GH3 to our house to check his guitar controller, and I pretty much sucked at it. Hahaha! Yeah, I suck at GH and I’m proud of it! XD

Guitar Hero: Van Halen is currently under production, while GH for the PS3 is still under construction, since there was a legal issue concerning the GH’s incompatibility with the PS3.

As for me, I still have a very, very, very, very, VERY long way to go before I could be a real GH addict. I can’t even finish “Free Bird” on Medium with a complete score (demmet ~_~).

Here’s a BOT playing DragonForce’s “Through the Fire and Flamers” for the GH3. I know some guy finished this song and got a Guinness World record for it. Sheesh. XD

The 9th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collection Convention

Like… OMG! OMG! OMG!!!

They finally have a set date for the 2010 ToyCon!

According to the Official website of the Phil. Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention (also known as ToyCon), it “will be held at the SM Megatrade Hall 2 and 3, Megamall, Mandaluyong City this June 19 & 20, 2010, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.”

This means… I need a Cosplay costume before June 19th!!! ~_~

Oh yeah, in case you haven’t noticed, I am a HUGE anime nut. Ever since I saw Voltes V and those sentai TV shows like Maskman, I’ve been into Japanese TV shows (even those batsu or punishment games shown in YouTube XD). And since I’ve visited the 2010 Otaku Expo, I have been hankering to get my hands on a costume worth cosplaying.

However, I am faced with the same dilemma that a lot of cosplayers go through… which is answering the question, “What character am I going to cosplay?”

I would really like to cosplay, but with my figure, it’s really hard to decide. I can’t exactly parade around MegaMall in a too-tight costume showing my wobbly bits to the people (and believe me, they are wobbly), so yeah, it’s hard to think about a costume that will compliment my size and shape. Not to mention there are issues about money and resources…

So, to you, my audience, I now ask a simple question. Which character can a 5 foot 3 fluffy woman with a weight of 80 kilos cosplay? And please… PLEASE don’t suggest Choji from Naruto. As much as I love Gaara, I’ve felt no feelings what-so-ever with the other characters of that anime. Well, maybe I CAN cosplay Tsunade… but I’m not a big fan of Naruto…

Geeze, God knows that if I had a figure of Angelina Jolie, I’d be parading around ToyCon in a Lara Croft outfit or something as bad a$$ and sexy as this chick:

Bayonetta

Look at all that leather…. XD
