Guitar Envy… again!

Oh, man… this guy’s rock versions of video game music is a killer.

Yep. The Music Skills Envy Demon is rising up my head again. I know I’ve been talking about it so much, and I get the feeling that the universe is converging and telling me to get a practice guitar or something. My neighbor just got one, and I could hear him from my window and it just kills me. T_T

There are so many video game music that I want to learn. This version of the Dragon Age: Inquisitions theme is one of them. So are the tavern songs. And ‘Breezy’ from Final Fantasy 8… ‘Sight of Spira’ from FF10.

Argh… when is my salary coming? T_T

A Gamer Rant

Okay, so here’s the thing…

You all know that I’m a gamer right, and that gaming is my thing, and right now I am currently obsessed about a game called “Dragon Age: Inquisition”. I am actually so obsessed with it and the series that every character I made positively LOOKS like me (they have a character creation thing where you can edit the main character’s face, from the shape of your face to the color of your eyes), and that I even started theorizing stuff about the games history that I end up commenting my theories in YouTube.

But recently, the game’s developer, BioWare, just announced that they will no longer be releasing any more updates and downloadable content (DLC) for the Xbox 360, which happens to be MY console, and that all future DLCs will only be released for their next generation gaming consoles, namely, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

And thus this is my question…

WTF, MAN?

Gaming companies, seriously, if you release a game in one type of console, proper decorum dictates that you release updates and DLC on THAT type of console as well, and not just New Gen Consoles. Focusing too much on New Gen leaves us behind, and I, for one, did not buy the Xbox 360 just for graphics, but rather for gaming experience, because let’s face it, the 360 has much MORE available games than the Xbox One. It has games still available ever since you released the machine in 2008, so it has thousands and thousands of games compared to the new gen. And unless you plan on making the Xbox One backward compatible with ALL your games, then I am not going to buy the New Gen.

And also, if the DLC you’re going to release is going to be the game’s Epilogue, like DA:Inquisitions Trespasser (the video below), then by rights, us Old Gen console owners DESERVE to know it ending. Honestly it’s like reading Harry Pottor books in paperback but realizing that the 7th book is only available for iPad in PAID subscription!

And here I thought of buying the best studio monitor stands for my sound system. The game’s soundtrack and music is frickin’ awesome, especially the tavern songs.

Ugh… gaming companies. It’s almost like they don’t care for their gamers. ~_~”

Practice Makes Perfect?

And now back to my gaming news…

Now that I have an Xbox 360 with Kinect, I am now seriously, SERIOUSLY practicing this.

And it’s not going to well.

I don’t have any DLC (Downloadable Content) songs yet, so this is the hardest song in my playlist as of now. And it is a b… really hard. XD

I guess my fluffiness is attributed to my issues with dancing this song. And my dance space is really not that roomy, but being a bit of a completionist, I can’t help but be disappointed with myself that I just can’t get this right. My feet get all tangled up, I get tired much too easily, and I can’t do the jumping and the fast steps. The guy dancing here is awesome to have done it. T_T

That doesn’t mean I’m going to give up though. I’mma finish this!!!

Maybe I just need one of those magnectic jewelry to increase my stamina or something. I heard the benefits of magnetic bracelets includes an increase in physical stamina, which I would probably need to do all the quick steps.

Hopefully, this thing could help with my fluffiness too, I heard that some people lost weight because of Dance Central. XD

Nobody Expects The (Dragon Age) Inquisition!

Heyyyy! I’m back! Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while. I’ve been pretty busy… you know… gaming.

Mainly because I finally have (ta-ta-tadaaaa) a Xbox 360!! Yay for me!

I know, I know… the Xbox has been around for AGES, and I was only able to get it now, mainly because it was a present by my sister for my 30th birthday. Sure, the Xbox came out about the same time as the PS2, but hey, you got to prioritize right? We got the PS2 mainly because of Final Fantasy X and Okami (which is STILL and FOREVER WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER!). If I had the Xbox at an earlier time, it probably would’ve drowned during the 2009 Typhoon Ketsana flooding. Still, I’m pretty happy that I have one now, since I can catch up with my console gaming again.

And one of the first games I bought was Dragon Age: Origins. What can I say? I love Alistair (and Steve Valentine for that matter). There’s always a chance that a gamer to fall in love with a character, specially if that character is as funny and as faithful as a lover like Alistair. <3

Anyway, so I heard that Dragon Age: Inquisition is coming up soon (November 18th, 2014 if I remember correctly)… and it’s going to be available for the Xbox 360 (AWWW YEAAAAAHHH!!!!). Although I’ve heard that the graphics won’t be as pretty as when you would play it on an Xbox One, I’m still pretty happy that there would be a continuation to the game’s story (although according to the game’s creators, the previous protagonists from Dragon Age: Origins and 2 would make some sort of “appearance”). And as much as I want to play it as soon as it comes out, I still want to finish Dragon Age 2 first before I do.

What can I say? I fell in love with Anders. XD

The game’s trailer looks AMAZING. And the music of it is certainly not helping in curbing my enthusiam for the game. Just listening and watching the trailer and other videos about the game makes me want to hit that “Mail your order today!” for the game. But… like I said, I want to be able to finish the gamesĀ and understand everything what’s been going on in the story before I order the next one on November.

But I AM going to get it though. I’m already playing through the story as quickly as I could… although Alistair’s adorable-ness is making it difficult for me.

DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION ON NOVEMBER, PEOPLE!!!! I don’t know about you, but I’m already saving up for it.

Welcome to the Jungle (My Obsession with Far Cry 3)

So I was listening around my iPod and came across the song “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns and Roses…

And then I realized that it fit EXACTLY to Far Cry 3… and somebody even made a video about it. (Credits to the creator… since I could never make a video like this, honestly. XD)

I actually have to wonder how many hours of driving or skydiving or gliding they had to do, or how many hours they had to surf around trialcampro.com for trail cameras. Getting all that detail on how those stunts look like from first person view isn’t easy, ya know.

Honestly, if I was a little teeny tiny bit brave, I would love to do all that crazy stunts in Far Cry3 in real life (except maybe getting capture by a crazy pirate and his crew of drug smugglers). But I can’t… I’m a wuss. Hahaha!

So yeah, I definitely need to get an Xbos or a decent PC to play this game. (Oh my goodness, gracious God… the games I want to play is turning into quite a list XD)

Cytus Frustration: L

Honestly, this song is FRUSTRATING the heck out of me!

I don’t know how this guy, Eugene Kua, did it… on an iPad, no less! I can’t even do it on my damned Android phone! It’s either he has freakishly long fingers, or he just practices really well. (You might want to check out his YouTube channel full of Cytus stuff… the guy is INSANE!!!)

Anyway, I’ve been playing this for a while and I can’t even get past the 800,000 mark with just one hand. I had to use two hands for this song…

Actually, I use two hands when I play Cytus on Hard Mode. Meh, I guess I suck that bad. Even if I drum my fingers to the beat, I still suck at it. I guess I really don’t have that kind of musical aptitude to do it. I can’t fare any better on a real life drum. My sense of beat is really off.

But… PATIENCE!!! I’ll practice hard to get this at an S at least. No harm in trying right?

Still *sigh* I wish I could have that kind of talent. T_T

VAAS MONTENEGRO!!!

Speaking of video games…

I know that Far Cry 3 came out last year, and it’s a little too late to inform the gaming world of my obsession right now… but hell, I’m going to say it anyway.

I. Am. Obsessed. With. Vaas Montenegro.

And not JUST Vaas Montenegro… but the actor playing him as well, Michael Mando… *he is soooo frickin’ hot*

Hey, what can I say? I like my men rugged and square-jawed. XD

Anyway, I’ve been watching clips of him for almost a week straight (that’s usually how my obssessions start XD), and I think he is BRILLIANT. Imagine coming into an audition, and the casting crew liking your performance so much that they CREATED the character of Vaas for him. He even STARRED in the promotional stuff that the Far Cry 3 peeps did.

I mean, seriously… his performance was AWESOME.

Although, it is kind of scary that I am liking ANOTHER villain, instead of the hero. It started of with Kefka Palazzo (from FFVI) to Sephiroth (from FFVII) to The Joker (Mark Hamill’s version) and now THIS! Maybe it has something to do with his voice… I dunno. I could listen to Micheal Mando’s accent all day even if I have to wear headphones. Or maybe… maybe I’m just completely nuts… insane, even…

Oh by the way…

Have I ever told you the definition of insanity…?

Missing my Video Games…

Ya know…. I just realized how much I miss my old video games…

I just found the remains of my PS1 and PS2… and it ain’t pretty. T_T

Especially when I saw this clip in YouTube:

Ahh… FFVII… so many memories of getting pissed of because of frickin’ Vincent Valentine and his uncontrollable Limit Break, and throwing my controller in frustration because I can’t beat the Weapons.

Anyway, I know that there are a lot of new technologies in the gaming world now. Heck, I could play FFVII in the PC now due to emulators. But I don’t know… I kind of miss playing them with a controller, ya know. Especially FFVIII… when I had to mash the Square button in Boosting Guardian Forces (and where I learned that I was the fastest button masher among my 3 siblings… XD)

I miss my consoles… seriously. I wonder if I can still get them fixed… or if shops still have games for them.

Troy Baker as The Joker!!!

Shows how late I am when it comes to gaming news…

But I love it anyway… Troy Baker doing Joker sounds pretty cool… but of course, no one can top Mark Hamill. XD

Mass Effect with Kinect?

Okay, I know Mass Effect has been around. Hell, I am the worst when it comes to gaming news…

But how in God’s green Earth that I did not know that you can play Mass Effect with the Kinect?!

Issuing commands like a real-time Commander Shepard? Oh hell yes!!!

It’s not like karaoke, so no singing involved (which is a good thing for me, I can’t sing for my life). You just speak your commands, just like that.

Although, being a Filipino, wouldn’t this have problems with people like me that has an accent? I don’t speak English very well, so the Kinect might have problems about that.

But still, it’s pretty cool. More games should have this kind of feature. It makes the game more interactive and fun. I personally can’t wait to say “Garrus! Sniper Rifle!” XD

Though it would be pretty awesome if the crew actually replies back to your command, like saying “Aye, aye, Commander” or “Yes sir!”

Damn… I really need an Xbox now. T_T
