Neil Gaiman’s Crazy Hair
This man is the reason why you don’t need to read around Ripped Freak reviews to know that you’re awesome.
Yep, it’s Neil Gaiman. Author of Coraline and The Sandman series, and one of my favorite authors. In this video, he’s reciting his poem, which is now also a Children’s Book in the US, called “Crazy Hair”.
And yes, he does have crazy hair, doesn’t he? XD
But that is exactly why he is so awesome. He was able to make a poem about himself, and still add a touch of fantasy in there for the audience. A person with that much imagination in him is worth idolizing.
There’s even a comment in this video that says Mr. Gaiman’s hair beats Neverland. XD
I wish I could get a copy of this book… it would be a great for story telling in my Library.

[Poetry] Pablo Neruda’s Sonnet XVII
*This is actually a new concept I thought of. I know I’m supposed to write only my poems, but I have read way too many great poems from other authors to just rave about my own works. So, I’m putting up other poems that I’ve read before, marking my favorite parts and then sharing them, for the enlightenment of other readers.^_^v*
**My favorite parts are the ones in italic XD**
I actually heard this poem a long time ago, while watching Robin Williams in the “Patch Adams” movie. It’s a really lovely poem and very romantic.
Sonnet XVII
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Oh my goodness gracious God…
I can’t believe this thing is still here!!! *squeal*
Anyway, here’s the thing…
My sister and I share a room, and recently, it’s been a total mess. It’s so messy that our room looks like a tornado hit it or something. So my sister and I made plans to clean everything up tomorrow (which I hope we’ll do XD), but to get started on things, I thought I’d rummage my headboard again to see what stuff I should start throwing out. And suddenly, I saw my old clipboard containing my old Poetry stuff!
I can’t believe it’s still here! I thought my sister threw this away when she last cleaned our room (which was a year ago… haha! Just kidding!).
Some of the poems I wrote back when I was a teenager was still there, as well as the song I wrote (which I never really got to finish, since I’m no good writing sheet music and stuff XD), as well as my really gothic (meaning gruesome) short story. Man! I really can’t believe it’s still here. I could’ve sworn these things were burned or something.
So anyway, looking back, I was a really, REALLY romantic teenager. Sheesh. I can’t believe I was actually that naive when it came to love. Haha! Most of my poems were about unrequited love, and my crushes and stuff. Although, there were a couple of poems about previous boyfriends. XD
Man… Maybe I should have these framed or something. Haha! These are poems about my teenage years! Wow…
Anyway, I’m writing down one of the poems I wrote here. I remember that during the time I wrote this letter, I was watching my crush by the stair case, flirting with his girlfriend. I think I got so jealous at that time that I ended up making this (and I almost crumpled this poem because it sounded so corny).
So, without further ado, here is Zenkx’s futile attempt to be the modern Sappho or Shakespeare… XD
