New Year’s Resolutions?

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Oh man, I can’t believe it’s 2011 already. I’m going to have to renew my PRC license this year.

Anyway, for those who don’t know, I actually spent my quiet (but fun) New Years in Pangasinan, at my parent’s farm. Which is both pretty great and kind of sucks. It’s great because everything is all quiet and I was able to be with my family, but it was kind of boring without the usual big city fireworks show I always see when I’m here in Manila.

So I was there, of course, I was thinking of all my resolutions for this coming year. We all have that, I think.  But last year, I decided NOT to have any resolutions because, well, I don’t actually do them.

I guess it does show what a weak-willed person I am. XD

SO! For this year, I have come to the conclusion that I DO need a New Years Resolution. And my resolution is….!

TO BECOME A GYM BUNNY! XD

What does that mean? Well, with my current health status, I’m pretty sure that I need to (again) lose weight, so this year, I am determined to reach 120 pounds, and maybe even lower, without sacrificing my health from dieting. Hahahaha!

So, what are your New Years resolution? ^_^v

A Belated New Year’s Post

Yep, I do realize that it’s January the 10th, and that this New Year’s post is probably MORE than belated. XD

Anyway, as a tradition in previous Friendster blog, I normally write down my resolution for the new year ahead of me. It keeps me in track for the things I’m supposed to do this year, as well as rectify some of the mistakes I’ve done the past. I mean, let’s admit it, all of us have at least one.

Unfortunately for this year, I have none.

I guess the reason for that came from our parish priest’s Homily during the New Year mass I attended.

He said that life, in general, is full of chaos. It’s what makes life worth living… to see the chaos at it happens, learn how to act when it does, and then learn from it. After what happened to Ondoy, he’s probably right. My parents, for one, learned from it. Hence, we’re making plans of moving to a neighborhood on higher ground. As for me, the flood made me realize to keep a calm head when disaster is happening, and probably cry about it when it’s all over. XD

He also said to take things slow. During God’s creation of life, he didn’t do what we, as humans normally do, which is to do something and immediately make something else afterwards in order to rush things. If one read the creation story, they’ll see that God made something, took a few moments, and saw that it was good, meaning that he took a moment to appreciate the things he has done. It was a good lesson, since I, for one, have been rushing way to quickly to see if the things I’ve done were good or not. I’ve kept rushing my work, rushing too much in helping my family, and even rushing my relationship too much to get married before I reach 28. (Harharhar!)

I guess it is a time to slow down a bit and think about the things I’ve done, and will be doing. Life may be short, but that doesn’t mean I have to rush things to the point that it’ll end up with me making bad choices ending in total disasters and probably ruin my life.

As they say in Spanish, “NO MAS!” No more rushing (except may be when I need to XD), and making screwed up decision that end up as total failures for me. It’s time to use brain, think things through, and act after careful consideration and thought.

However, there is one resolution I’ve been thinking off, which have gone through much deliberation. And that is to head for the Gym again. Harharhar! I really need to start working out again, since in a recent medical check up, I have been told that I am overweight (not a big surprise there) and on the verge of diabetes. Which for me, is quite a horrible thought. My mom is diabetec, and it hurts me more whenever I have to inject her with insulin. I do not wish to spend my life as a giant pincushin, so yeah, as soon as I get my salary, it’s off to the gym for me! XD

Anyway, I guess that’s it for me! Hmm, now that I think about it, since I’ll be heading to the gym soon, maybe I should include my weight loss journey here in my blog. What do you guys think…? Well, I guess that’s one more thing that needs consideration. XD
