jealousy

Adam Lambert needs to learn how to SHUT IT.

‘Nuff said.

I’m not really a huge fan of American Idol, or even Britain’s Got Talent. In fact, the only reality TV that I’m a fan of is Wipe Out (cuz wipe outs make me laugh XD). I am, however, a big fan of talented people.

Take Susan Boyle for example. She’s like the epitome of hidden talents, I swear. She comes in the theater, makes cheeky comments and yet all the while the audience thought she was a joke and laughed. But when she sang, she not only got a standing ovation, but the whole world’s attention, proving that looks can be deceiving and to never judge people by the way they look.

But unfortunately, some people just have to go and slam her all of the sudden, like Adam Lambert. In a recent column from Yahoo!, Lambert called Susan Boyle’s album “terrible” despite the album reaching 4x platinum. While his own album only sold up to 500,00 copies.

Sheesh. Jealous much?

I will admit that after hearing the song Lambert had mentioned, called “White Horses”, I feel that the song just wasn’t fit for Boyle’s powerfully melodic voice. But come on! To say that the WHOLE album was “terrible” is just mean and stupid. Susan Boyle had the coolest rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream”, perhaps even better than Elaine Page. Besides, if the album was really that awful, then it wouldn’t sell 4-million-copies in the US alone, right?

Envy can make people say the most stupid things. And I believe this is the most stupid criticism I’ve ever heard about Susan Boyle. And coming from a second place American Idol, no less. Lambert and Boyle have two different musical styles, and for him to slam her in a musical style that would never be fit for him is just plain wrong. I would’ve understood it if Andrea Bocelli or Josh Groban critiqued her like that, but from a guy who’s more on the punk/rock genre, it’s just… bleh. AND he even said that the way Boyle sang the song was “horrendous and sacrilegious”.

OH COME ON!

You guys want to know what song remake is “horrendous and sacrilegious”? The recent cover of Micheal Jackson’s “We Are the World”. Yeah, search it on YouTube and listen to how horrendous it was. I mean it. I agree with Jay-Z (you know, Beyonce’s hubby) when he said that “We Are The World” is untouchable and should never be remade. But unfortunately, they did, and it came out terrible. I admire their courage and their tenacity to find a way to help out the victims of the Haiti earthquake, but remaking a classic is not a good way to do it. It would’ve been better if they had written a new song for the incident. I’m pretty sure it would’ve sold better.

Anyway, back to the issue, let this be a lesson to all the other artists out there who wish to “critique” their chart opponents. RESEARCH, my friend. If you see that your opponent has a 3.5 million album sales larger than yours, then by all means, shut it. Statistics doesn’t lie when it comes to calculating how lame you are that you’re losing out to an old lady.

Of "Poetry"

Oh my goodness gracious God…

I can’t believe this thing is still here!!! *squeal*

Anyway, here’s the thing…

My sister and I share a room, and recently, it’s been a total mess. It’s so messy that our room looks like a tornado hit it or something. So my sister and I made plans to clean everything up tomorrow (which I hope we’ll do XD), but to get started on things, I thought I’d rummage my headboard again to see what stuff I should start throwing out. And suddenly, I saw my old clipboard containing my old Poetry stuff!

I can’t believe it’s still here! I thought my sister threw this away when she last cleaned our room (which was a year ago… haha! Just kidding!).

Some of the poems I wrote back when I was a teenager was still there, as well as the song I wrote (which I never really got to finish, since I’m no good writing sheet music and stuff XD), as well as my really gothic (meaning gruesome) short story. Man! I really can’t believe it’s still here. I could’ve sworn these things were burned or something.

So anyway, looking back, I was a really, REALLY romantic teenager. Sheesh. I can’t believe I was actually that naive when it came to love. Haha! Most of my poems were about unrequited love, and my crushes and stuff. Although, there were a couple of poems about previous boyfriends. XD

Man… Maybe I should have these framed or something. Haha! These are poems about my teenage years! Wow…

Anyway, I’m writing down one of the poems I wrote here. I remember that during the time I wrote this letter, I was watching my crush by the stair case, flirting with his girlfriend. I think I got so jealous at that time that I ended up making this (and I almost crumpled this poem because it sounded so corny).

So, without further ado, here is Zenkx’s futile attempt to be the modern Sappho or Shakespeare… XD

Jealousy
Jealousy is the pain that rips your heart
when the one you love loves another.
Jealousy is the sadness that drags your soul
when you know he’ll never be yours.
Jealousy is the burn that scars your mind
with infinite questions of what, who or why.
Jealousy is the tear that forms in your eyes
when you see him happy without you.
Jealousy is the invincible force that clenches your hand
when you know you’ll never get to hold his.
Jealousy is the punch that hits your stomach
when you see him happy with another girl.
Jealousy is the feeling that makes you weak
when you try to walk away from him.
Jealousy is the hand that turns your head
so he wouldn’t see the pain in your eyes.
Jealousy is the wind that pushes you away
from the scene of his happiness.
Jealousy is the knife that cuts your heart
when you know your love will never be returned.
This is Jealousy.
This is the emotion I’m feeling.
Now that I know that you’ll never be mine.
But then again, I guess you’ll never know it,
Since you belong to someone else.
Sheesh… I was such a hopeless romantic. XD
*By the way, since I technically “published” this poem here in Blogger, this poem is now under MY name, as stated in the Internet Copyright Law. So yeah, if any of you try to to plagiarize my work, I’ll sue your butts. XD*
