Ukulele Suck-iness

Okay, so even after all these months of playing the ukulele, I still pretty much suck. ~_~

I seem to have a problem with strumming. I can’t strum a song the right way, and I end up making a different beat pattern for the song compared to the original.

I think I need something to help me understand a beat of a song… like a metronome or a synthesizer or something. Just to help me get the rhythm of my strumming and getting the patterns right.

Anyway, it’s still a while since I’ve practiced the ukulele. Maybe I need to focus on practicing strumming.

On a side note, I really want to learn to play this song. It’s so FUN!!! XD

But I still have to practice on how to play the E-chord. And the strumming. And the chucking…

Missing My Ukulele

I seem to be neglecting my Ukulele lately.

Not because I’ve been busy… but because I can’t seem to pick some songs I can play that does not include an E chord or “chucking”.

Not to mention that the person who owns the song I’m going to sing ought to have general liability insurance, since the way that sing is just so awful that it could be considered “property damage”. ~_~

And it’s not just about me picking a song without an E chord or chucking. I’m just looking for songs that I can cover that aren’t in YouTube yet, and also some good Filipino songs. So many of the ukulele cover songs that I see on YouTube are cover songs from foreign artists. Where is the Filipino love, people?

Anyway, I’ll be sure to post my ukulele video on YouTube once it’s finished. If only I can find a nice place to video it. XD

Trike Drifting: The New Sport

Imagine riding down a highway, the wind blowing at your face, your buddies riding behind you, with a djarum black cigarette in your mouth, feeling like such a bad ass because the way you ride looks so awesome.

Except that you’re not riding a Harley Motorcycle, or a Ducati…

Oh no… you are riding a Tricycle.

And not just any tricycle. A Tricycle that frickin’ DRIFTS.

Yep, a lot of new people are looking for new hobbies, and drift trikes are turning to be quite a fad. Especially here in the Philippines, since there are a lot of mountain regions here, and a lot of inclined roads. Though I am a little chicken to try it out (being fluffy and all ~_~), there are a lot of Filipinos that are beginning to love Drift Trikes.

Like the people of  Pinoy Drift Trikes in Facebook. Already they are starting on new projects for drift trikes. And it looks very easy and cheap to make too, since a person can customize just about every single detail about the trike. It is, somewhat, environment-friendly too, since you’ll be using old bikes instead of throwing them in junk shops and land fills.

I have a feeling that Drift Trikes will soon be a popular sport and hobby. Already, Drift Trikers are looking for other materials, and supplies for their own trikes. So if you’re looking for a new extreme sport, or just some new hobby, why not try Trike Drifting?

You can visit the Pinoy Drift Trikes website from this link. Don’t forget to like them and learn more about this new extreme sport. ^_^v

In the meantime, I’ll just sit here and watch the awesomeness in three wheels…

Can You Move Like Jagger?

Because I sure as heck can’t XD.

Anyway, I’ve been so obsessed with this song lately, mainly because it’s one of the songs my bellydance instructor makes us dance to. But I get the feeling that I might need to consult some people with Radiologic Technician Jobs… because my back is killing me. >_< I don't know... it just seemed rather... catchy. My bellydance teacher showed me this choreography and I just PANTED so much because it involved a lot of jumping around. And before that I had to do tons of shimmy drills, etc. My instructor is running me ragged during bellydance class, but I like it. Anyway, I posted this because my brain just keeps playing this OVER and OVER and OVER in my head that I'm afraid this is going to play in my "blood whale" dreams. XD

Picture Taking Safety

If one of these guys fell, it would’ve been an utter “fail”… it’s going to spread through hostgator websites and become a viral video. ~_~

Anyway, in case you are wondering, the guy in the dark blue shirt who is about to plunge to his death (if this had been a total fail), is my blogging/photography guru, raredog. And yes, it seems he is opting for posing for vanity rather than for safety. ~_~

People, people… I know posing for pictures is fun, but if you’re going to do it in dangerous places, please don’t do it. This might seem like it’s going to be great in pictures, but if it fails and you end up getting into the ambulance after it, I’d say don’t bother. Always remember, “safety first”.

The Vanishing Island?

Well, I guess you could call it that. It’s such a teeny, tiny island that I doubt handheld garmin gps couldn’t find it.

This is actually a very small island off the coast of Sta. Cruz, Marinduque, when my mother and I visited Palomaria Beach during the Holy Week.

It’s about the size of 2 buses, and I called it “Vanishing” because it sinks during the high tide. When we visited this island, it was already high tide, and the water reached up to my knees. A few moments before this photograph, a group of people pitched up a beach umbrella because they thought it was an actual island. Boy, where they shocked when they saw that the tide was rising. As it turned out, the owner of the boat they rented was pretty much a joker. Luckily, the family that stayed there were a pretty fun bunch, and had a good laugh at the joke. XD

I’m hoping I could come here again with my sister, I think she would really enjoy this. XD

By the way, woman with a hat and an orange scarf is my mother. She actually enjoyed walking around the island. ^_^

Bloggers Fest 2011

Yep, I’m in the Bloggers Fest right now! *hmm… is that they call a Live Feed…? I have no idea. XD*

It’s actually pretty cool to be here, it’s been a while since I have been to a Blogger’s event, and it’s my first time to attend a Bloggers Fest.

I’m with my friends from PnSers.comChief Raredog is here, so are our members clutch and Franz.

It’s great to be here… it’s almost like being in school again…. like, blogging school. Harharhar! It made me realize I still have a long way to go before I could consider myself a true blogger. More studying for me. XD

Anyway, thanks to Azrael Coladilla for coordinating this awesome event (all hail the Pinoy Blogging guru! XD) and thanks to all the speakers and people here. I hope this happens again and way more often. It’s a great stepping stone for new bloggers coming into the blogging scene. XD

See You In 2 Years!

*my nephew, Alexis… HE IS SUCH A CUTIE! ^_^*

No, not me… my cousin! XD

Yep, my cousin Alex is heading back to London to raise their children and continue with their healthcare jobs.

Awww me so sad. T_T

Luckily, my mom was able to buy some gifts for their children. She gave my niece, Alexa, some really nice clothes, and she gave Alexis a really, really, REALLY cute hat.

Hats like these are really cuter on kids than on adults… hahaha! I should know, I wear those kind of hats all the time.

We won’t be able to see them again for two or three years, so by then Alexa would be around 8, and Alexis would be 3 years old. Waaahh… they grow up so fast!

Anyway, see yah in two years guys! We’ll be waiting for you! ^_^v
