Missing my Video Games…

Ya know…. I just realized how much I miss my old video games…

I just found the remains of my PS1 and PS2… and it ain’t pretty. T_T

Especially when I saw this clip in YouTube:

Ahh… FFVII… so many memories of getting pissed of because of frickin’ Vincent Valentine and his uncontrollable Limit Break, and throwing my controller in frustration because I can’t beat the Weapons.

Anyway, I know that there are a lot of new technologies in the gaming world now. Heck, I could play FFVII in the PC now due to emulators. But I don’t know… I kind of miss playing them with a controller, ya know. Especially FFVIII… when I had to mash the Square button in Boosting Guardian Forces (and where I learned that I was the fastest button masher among my 3 siblings… XD)

I miss my consoles… seriously. I wonder if I can still get them fixed… or if shops still have games for them.

VEIL POI!!!

I miss my bellydancing lessons. ~_~

Anyway, speaking of bellydance again, I have come to the conclusion that Zils are not quite the thing for me. Apparently, my fingers and feet are not that coordinated. ~_~

However, I did see this video in YouTube, and it made me WANT to make a Veil Poi (or Voi). And make an additional costume for it too.

I wonder if equipment leasing is allowed for wanna-be dress/costume makers…

Back to Veil Poi. The thing is, when I was very, very young, I used to do this kind of thing. I’d find one of my mother’s scarves or a strip of cloth, tie it to an end of a stick (or a walis tingting, as we Filipinos call it), and twirl around it. My mom would scold me because she’d end up with scarves with wrinkled corners, but I had a lot of fun doing it. But then of course, I stopped when I grew older.

Personally, next to Zills, Veils and Veil Poi are great accessories for a bellydancer, not to mention it really tones up your arms and add as a cardio exercise. Try twirling that for an hour and tell me that your shoulder’s didn’t hurt. XD

I was thinking of making one, using stuff that’s just around the house. The weight at the end of the poi is easy… just use a small bag filled with “munggo” seeds or rice (I remembered the game “Chinese Jackstone” when I was a kid. Anybody else remember that?) so that it wouldn’t hurt so much when it hits, but still slightly weighted. The silk scarves, I have plenty of. The handle is pretty easy too, since I’d just restitch my dog’s old leash. However, I am having some problems looking for a chain. I wonder what I can use for that. Maybe I can just use a ribbon? But that would be rather flimsy. It might snap when I twirl the Voi.

Hmm… all this blogging about Veil Poi is making me want to make one. Maybe I should. It would be great for Photoshoots for Pnsers.com, plus I can use it as extra exercise.

….

I need to find some tough chain or ribbon. ~_~

My Fanfiction Website

Hey guys, did you know I have a Fanfiction.net website?

Yeah, I’m author there too… granted, I only made 12 of them, and some of them are weird. There are some good ones, but I think there’s a couple induced by drunkeness (like the two Twilight Fanfics I made ~_~). I swear, I’m going to have to go to the¬†long beach drug alcohol rehab treatment center¬†whenever I’m making a new fanfiction. >_<

I do have a new fanfiction coming up. I’ll be posting it soon, once I finished editing it. It’s about the Lord of Rings movie, so all you LOTR people should watch out for that one.

I’ve had a couple more fanfics, but they got screwed… and eventually deleted. My writer’s block is so awful nowadays. Maybe I’m too distracted.

If you want to read my fanfics, just click here and you’ll get to my author’s site. Don’t forget to leave a comment, ok? XD

Tribal Fusion Bellydance: Is It Weird…?

So after an awesome bellydance session at the gym, my instructor and I had a really interesting discussion about Tribal Fusion Bellydancing in the Philippines.

Apparently, TFB (the acronym I’m going to use from now on XD) isn’t very well-received in the Phil. because a lot of people think that it’s “weird” and “not really considered as bellydance”.

Hmm? Really? O_o

Personally, I think TFB is still considered bellydance, and it’s not weird at all. I mean, yeah, TFB costuming sort of makes you wear a lot of tassles, coins, scarves and other jewelry aside from your triton wedding bands, but it’s not so bad. I find it even more challenging, since your feet are pretty much rooted to the ground, so you’d have to really use your muscles to control your movement… kind of like Rachel Brice… *points to video*

In fact, my “blood whale” dreams are weirder than TFB… which will be discussed in another time. XD

Anyway…. my instructor said there are actually very few people who do TFB, particularly in her circle of bellydance friends. I hope someone would expose the beauty of TFB to the Philippines.

Or better yet, maybe I should do it… hahahaha! Just kidding! XD

KWEH!!

If it weren’t for the fact that I’m afraid I’d finish up all my laserjet ink cartridges, I’d print this picture so that it would be the same size as my wall. XD

For those who don’t know, this little stuffed toy is a “chocobo”, which is a giant-yellow-ostrich-like creature in the Final Fantasy universe, and is one of my biggest obsessions in stuff concerning FF. XD

Huwaaaa it’s so cute.

It’s a gift from my ever-awesome bestfriend Joyce (though I initially said that I’d pay her back). So now I am a proud member of having one of the cutest FF merchandises ever!

Anyway, this little guys name is “Jocobo” (Joyce+Chocobo XD), and right now he is occupying the left side of my bed along with “C.C.” (my dog stuffed toy than an officemate gave me for Christmas XD).

I can’t get over the cuteness, I swear. HAHAHAHA! Thanks again, Joyce, for this! You are so awesome. XD

ARRRR, MATEYS! XD

I was looking around the InterNet again, when I came across this:

If I saw this at the streets of Ortigas when I’m driving, I’d probably going to need disability insurance… I’m going to end up wrapped in pole for laughing. XD

It’s actually pretty cool, kinda reminds me of Johnny Depp and Pirates of the Caribbean. It would be cool if there’s like a body art of the Black Pearl at the sides of this car. XD

Speaking of pirates…

My bestfriend and I are going to the MOVIES!

Yeah, we’re going to see Thor (even though it’s a little late) because I want to see Chris Hemsworth’s abdominal muscles (droooool), and after that we’re going to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides because I’m head over heels in love with Johnny Depp.

I’m going to need my drool bucket for this though… hot men all afternoon XD.

Dissidia 012 Duodecim!!!

Yes! Thank God this game didn’t get canceled because of the Tsunami/Earthquake in Japan. I would’ve cried if it had. T_T

Anyway, yes, Final Fantasy Dissidia 012 Duodecim (wow! that’s a mouthful!) is released. Actually, it’s been released last March, but in case you didn’t notice, I’m a little behind on gaming news. ~_~

ME WANTS IT!!!

I think I should try and upgrade my PSP now… hopefully I could do so before the Holy Week… so I can play it non-stop during my vacation. XD

Sephiroth is still so hawt! XD

Where’s Yoshitaka Amano-san? And Gaming News

With all these deaths and these tragedies going on in Japan, I’m beginning to worry about my favorite painter, Yoshitaka Amano. T_T

Oh man, I’m tearing up just worrying about him. (But hey, give me a break will ya? I already cried and howled with worry when I remembered Gackt, and I cried with joy when I found out he was alive ~_~).

Amano became my favorite painter after I saw his illustration of Final Fantasy VI in the internet, and after seeing his Vampire Hunter D art. They were masterpieces to me. The brushstrokes of his paintings were so fine, and it was just beautiful. I literally scourged around all National Bookstores in my area to find a copy of his collaborative work with Neil Gaiman called “Sandman: The Dream Hunters”. (sorry, Neil Gaiman fans, I liked the story, but I loved the art. XD)

I just hope he is okay. Amano-san, if you’re out there, please tell your fans that you are safe! We are so worried. T_T

*me regretting not being able to take online nursing degree begins now ~_~*

In other news about Japan, since I’ve already posted stuff about J-celebrities, it’s about time that I moved on to the every awesome Japanese Gaming Industry… which luckily will continue to thrive (hooray). Several of Japan’s gaming companies have now posted in Twitter about they’re current statuses. The first one I checked was Square Enix (of course, I’d try to find them first, they made the FF series!) and luckily they are all fine, although they’re online servers will be down for the week and probably longer due to power issues. Sony Entertainment is also okay, so are the Sega Community and Nintendo company. Hideo Kojima, of Kojima Productions and Konami (also creator of the gad-awesome Metal Gear series) is also okay.

Unfortunately, due to the destruction and also power outages in Japan, it has been announced that several games will have delivery issues, or will end up being altered or cancelled.

Ouch, I just hope Dissidia 012 won’t be one of them. ~_~

I hope that all these people are well somewhere, surrounded by people who have had online nursing degree to take care of them.

Obsessed Again ~_~

Waaaaaa!!!!

Damn to the depths whoever invented anime. Hahaha!

I’m totally obsessing over “Kaichou wa Maid-sama”, an anime that was released just last year.

And I blame my sister! XD

Actually, I seem to have noticed that I watch animes with romances. Ouran… SA… Fushugi Yuugi…

Hmm… this is what happens when you’re a single woman obsessed with anime. XD

MOE~~~~ MOE~~~~ !!! XD
