Roval And Me

I was watching “Marley And Me” a few moments ago, and it made me cry again. ~_~

Like serious-waterworks-from-the-eyes kind of crying.

Maybe because it’s because I miss my old German Shepherd, Roval, who died 4 years ago.

He was such an awesome dog, although he was quite a pain in the butt to walk, just like Marley. He would run, and chase cats and bark at other dogs that we were passing by. I mean, for those who ever owned like big dogs, you understand what I’m talking about. XD

But walking him, for me, was quite therapeutic. Sure, he was a dog, but whenever I sit down for a moment to rest and think things through, he was there sitting beside me. I’d talk about stuff, and even though I don’t know if he’d ever understand me, he was there looking at me with those puppy-dog eyes that made me feel like everything was going to be alright.

Anyway, I just miss having a dog again. My mom forbids it now, ever since Roval and one of our other dogs, Porkchop, died of diseases in an animal hospital.

I need a new pet. Maybe I should start thinking about keeping fish in my room. XD

Nephie’s Birthday!!!

Yep, it’s my nephew’s birthday today. Whooooo! *ala Rick Flair* He’s turning 12 today. Which is pretty cool. He grows up so fast. XD

Actually, it kind of sucks a little, because it’s his birthdays that makes me feel older, rather than my own birthdays. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be 18 pretty quickly, which I dread, because by that time I’d around my thirties. Argh!

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NEPHEW! ^_^v

Of Debuts…

Whew. So tired.

It’s been almost 3 days since my cousin’s debut, but I’m still bushed.

But I guess considering the work I do also, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that I’m tired often. XD

Anyway, my lovely cousin, Jessica, just had her debut last June 5th. My cousin is 18 years old, man! How amazing is that?! It seems like it was only yesterday that she was clutching my stuffed teddy bear and was crying in her mom’s lap because she couldn’t have it (but I gave it to her anyway).

I’m not really a big fan of debuts. I never had one. All I had when I turned eighteen was 3,000 pesos that I used to treat my friends to Jollibee, then eat out with my sister and cousin on a nearby Pares restaurant near our boarding house. Very classy, no? I always thought that celebrating your “entrance” to the adult world when you turn 18 seem pretty vague. I guess it’s just me. My parents are really practical people, hence, we were raised to think that some celebrations are not really that necessary. My sister had a pretty good debut, though. When she turned 18, my mom treated us and her friends to a local bar where she allowed my sister to drink her first ever alcoholic drink. How’s that for welcoming adulthood? XD

But I guess, in Jessica’s case, it’s pretty good, considering she is the only daughter.

This is my lovely cousin. Ain’t she pretty? XD

Anyway, before her debut, I was very annoyed. First of all, I was an hour and a half late for work, then I had to get out of work before 5 (meaning a probable cut in my paycheck), THEN, it was raining like crazy! By the time I got home, they were getting ready to leave, and they had to stuff me in the car even though I was wet with rain. ~_~

Luckily, my sister brought clothes for me, and my relatives have already rented a nice, posh hotel room in the venue. It was pretty cool, specially since our older relatives allowed us (my cousins) to stay together for the night and have fun. And it was VERY fun. My male cousins made me laugh so hard because they were testing the beds if they were sturdy or if they made noises. Haha! Looks like they were testing if they could imitate Hayden Koh. XD

The debut was pretty good too. My cousins and I had a great time, not to mention I had a great, big plate of warm food for dinner. Then we danced a lot too, turns out that my cousin’s college friends were party animals. (What do you expect?! They’re CEU students! Same as me! XD)

Yep, that’s me with the weird, white flower on my ear with glasses.I had my back turned this time, I was cheering on my Aunt who was dancing with my sister. XD

Anyway, the after party was where the real fun started. My cousins and a few of Jica’s friends came over to “initiate” her into adulthood by giving her her first alcoholic beverage… namely tequila and vodka. Unfortunately for me, since I was very tired from work, half a bottle of vodka and two shots of tequila knocked me to sleep. But I was still awake when my cousin got tipsy enough to get dizzy. XD

All in all, it was a pretty fun party. I got to spend some time with my cousins, got to drink vodka, and most of all, was able to welcome my cousin to adulthood with nice shot of tequila. Well worth leaving an hour early at work. Honestly, an alcoholic drink is always the best way to welcome someone into the world of adulthood.
